German Iceberg Fryeri is a line-bred Fryeri strain selected for large white blazes that can bleed into the blue body as males mature. This is not the nearly all-white ghost type; it keeps the blue Fryeri look with a dramatic Iceberg blaze.

Origin and Habitat

  • Native Region: Line-bred German Iceberg strain from Lake Malawi Sciaenochromis fryeri stock.
  • Natural Habitat: Intermediate Lake Malawi habitat with rock cover and open swimming space.

Physical Characteristics

  • Size: 7-8 inches.
  • Coloration: Mature males show blue body color with a large white blaze; some males may show a small amount of yellow or orange.
  • Body Shape: Streamlined hap body built for active swimming and display.

Behavior and Temperament

  • Temperament: Mildly aggressive.
  • Social Behavior: Best with peacocks and haps of similar size and temperament.
