The Photo above is one of our breeder males @Rons cichlids. Young males will start showing color at about 2.5 inchs. Males at that size will have mostly purple and blue in the body and have orange on their head and dorsal fin. Once males get around 3.5 inches or bigger they will start getting a much thicker blaze that will bleed down into their sides. In breeding dress, their body will turn a white/light purple color. To show its true colors in needs to be one of the more dominant fish in the tank.
