These were born and raised at our facility, pictures of the parents shown above. All you need to keep these guys is at least a 20 gallon tank, with plenty of sand and shells. They also make great additions to start up community tanganyikan tanks as long as you provide them with a few shells in a secluded part of the tank. If you are putting them with other tangs, please make sure you have appropriately sized tank mates and species that will not prey on them. They may look small but they are known to hold their own against fish 3 times their size. From our experience they do better in groups, so for species only 20 gallon aquariums, we recommend adding 5-12, for community tang tanks, add at least 3, but 5 or more would be our recommended amount so that you end up with males and females.
